The Sidewalk Arts Festival is the largest annual fund-raiser for the Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion, and the largest one-day outdoor festival in the region!

Each year it's estimated that about 60,000 people flock to the downtown area to enjoy more than 250 fine art, folk art, craft and food booths from 10 states. Below is a comprehensive list of vendors who are expected to attend.

Admission to the Fair is Free!
Artists and food vendors from across the country will be on hand.

Proceeds from the Sidewalk Arts Festival support programming at the Visual Arts Center, including free exhibitions, art classes, outreach activities and a permanent collection.  The Visual Arts Center brings the visual arts to children and adults through exhibitions, education, collections and special events.


Children's Garden Studio
Visit the Garden Studio, where kids can make and take arts and science projects, play games and more! Activities include Clay Pets, Crazy Hats, Rock and Bead Necklaces, Bird Seed Houses, Tom Twist Balloons, Kirby Science Discovery Center’s Bubble Island, Face Painting, and the Jumping Room and Inflatable Slide. There's also a free Chalk Zone street painting area.

Tickets for these activities are $2 each or you can enjoy all activities for $10. Proceeds go to support education programs at the Visual Arts Center.

Free Admission to the Kirby Science Discovery Center
Admission to the Kirby Science Discovery Center is free for the day! Check out the more than 80 hands on science exhibits, and don't forget to say hi to Stan the T-Rex. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please check in at the box office for admission stickers.

Volunteer Opportunities
A variety of volunteer opportunties are available, in various shifts, throughout the day. Call Ruth Atkins, volunteer coordinator, at (605) 367-7397 ext. 2375 to reserve your spot.

Park it and ride the trolley!
Thanks to the City of Sioux Falls, festival-goers can enjoy a free trolley ride to and from the Sidewalk Arts Festival. Park your car in the lot north of the Farmer's Market on the north side of Falls Park* or any available parking ramp or street in downtown Sioux Falls, and ride to and from the festival free of charge.

*Directions to Falls Park: From I-90 east and west bound, take the Cliff Ave. exit south to 6th Street. Turn west on 6th Street to Weber Dr. Turn north on Weber to Falls Park Drive.

From I-29 north or south bound, take I-229 east to the Cliff Ave. exit. Turn north on Cliff Ave. to 6th Street. Turn west on 6th to Weber Dr. Turn north on Weber to Falls Park Drive.
