Learn the method behind Rodin's casting process

 

Sioux Falls Sculptor Darwin Wolf to give free lecture at Visual Arts Center


 Sioux Falls, SD – (June 24, 2009)  The Washington Pavilion will host an informational lecture on the casting process that helped create sculptures which make up the Rodin Exhibit, on Saturday June 27 at 10 a.m.  Sioux Falls sculptor Darwin Wolf will lead this FREE event which will be held in the Everist Gallery of the Visual Arts Center.


 Wolf has earned an art degree from Northern State University in 1983 and has sculpted historical monuments as well as conceptual designs.  His sculpture has been exhibited throughout the Midwest and in competitive national exhibitions.  Wolf has produced the Mayor’s Awards for the Arts and the Sioux Falls Humanitarian Award.  Local monumental works include bronzes at St. Therese Catholic Church, Avera Health’s Central Offices, the Msgr. John McEneaney Memorial at McEneaney Field, and “Carlitos the Brave” at the Walsh Family Village.   Wolf has been involved with bronze foundries for 30 years and will convey many of these experiences during his lecture.
